j0.

Why do I post? I appear to have more or less woken up one day as co-poster in kat's blog, so here I am. I suppose I'll inflict the standard introductory stuff upon you, gentle reader, making the assumption that at least some of the people who're going to read this thing don't know who or what I am. So, who am I?

One of the most obvious things most people can pick out from me is that I'm something of a natural historian. I'm not just a history major as much as I am a History Major who takes being a history geek to the point of being a history nerd. It's hardly something I'm ashamed of; I'm very much a person of the past, tough I try not to be someone who lives there. I stumbled into the interest in tenth grade more by accident than anything else, thanks to a frighteningly good teacher, and have been branching out since.

I believe in interconnectivity, which is why I'm not just a history geek, which is itself why I'm posting here. I want to try and think of things in terms of the scheme of things, which can get me going off on anything from politics to technology to religion and philosophy to arbitrary silly crap which may or may not have anything to do with anything. So consider yourself warned. Or something.

I'm about two thirds through my history program at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and am currently branching out from the heavy Classics concentration I had until recently so I can get my modern history and political backgrounds more up to snuff. After that I plan on wandering into education, so I can see how much of it I can infli - er, pass on to the eager young minds of the next generation.

It ain't a blog without some random references, so I give this to the classics geeks among us, this to people who think they understand what extreme sports are, and this to those who watch bad things happen to bad governments with a slight smile on their faces.
