Percussive therapy

I still don’t have much to say that other people aren’t currently saying better (just pick a blog at random these days). I just thought I’d chime in on the foreign-aid issue currently going on down in the Gulf Coast, being in one of the nations that’s doing what it can with what it has at the moment.

It seems there are people whining about the foreign aid - that it’s not being there, that people are keeping quiet out of spite or generic anti-Americanism now that a major First World city has been almost entirely destroyed for the first time in decades. Sure, aid has been briefly witheld - by the American government. However, someone in the State Department, possibly Secretary of State Imelda MarcosRice or someone else, seems to have changed that.

On a webforum elsewhere today, I ran into one of the yahoos making that claim - that the world hasn’t lifted a finger or anything. I was going to ignore it, or violate the site’s no-flames policy, but opted instead to unleash one of these instead. Quoted and responded thus (with names avoided to protect the dangerously ignorant):

I think it is an utter shame that the US is suppose to be there for everyone but then something like this happens to us and we hear from nobody

Uhh, what?

What the bleeding hell?

No. I refuse to believe you said that.

You did NOT just claim that the United States hasn’t heard from anybody about this. Because that would just be silly, you know?

No. You didn’t say that. I’m hallucinating.

That’s it.

… God, that felt good. Both to say and to know.
