Author Archive for Warrior Tang

It’s that time of year again when your humble author drops the “humble” part and tells you how to vote. This’ll just be a quick rundown of things since I’m rushed this year, or your can skip all the way to the end for a short summary.

Oakland Athletics third baseman Eric Chavez provided the fireworks that the Oakland offense needed last night, batting 4-5 and driving in 4 runs in the A’s 9-3 victory over the New York Yankees. Chavez then provided more fireworks after the game, speaking out in a blunt and energetic condemnation of United States foreign policy in […]

The June 6 primary elections in California pitted State Treasurer Phil Angelides and State Controller Steve Westly against each other for the Democratic nomination for Governor. While the Democratic Party favourite Angelides came out as the winner, it was an awfully close race with a final margin of about 48%-44%.

According to a MoveOn member posting at Daily Kos, the organization recently asked its membership to volunteer ideas for the Democratic Party to run on and is in the process of whittling the ten most popular ideas down to 3 that they’ll come out with next month. Thanks to the Kossack infiltrator, we’ve got a […]

Hidden in the middle of a Foreign Affairs magazine article that focuses on how Saddam Hussein was led by his own delusions about the US in mostly the same way that Bush was led by his own delusions about Iraq (except Saddam killed people he didn’t agree with), the magazine mentions that Iraq was planning […]

Bush’s 750 Vetos

One of the more intriguing aspects of the George W. Bush administration is that Bush’s relations with Congress are so great that he has never had to veto a law. Or, at least, that is how it appears on the surface. When one looks deeper into the situation, as the Boston Globe did, one finds […]

Yes, Tang got push polled.

The Servicemembers’ Legal Defense Network reports that “the Department of Defense has released documentation confirming government surveillance of groups opposed to the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell law banning openly lesbian, gay and bisexual service members”. The SLDN press release says these investigations were taken under the TALON program, which Wired Magazine describes as a […]

The Crookenator

Governor Schwarzenegger’s re-election campaign is laundering money to hide its source in violation of campaign finance disclosure laws. Count me unsurprised but shocked at the brazenness of it.

The religion-centered weblog The Revealer visits a major right-wing political conference, “Vision America”, and takes notes. Essays could probably be written about the insanity and danger to the country of each individual mentioned in the Revealer’s report. Attendees included big names like Phyllis Schafly, Tom Delay, and Sam Brownback, but a lesser-known person also stands […]

About

Archive for Warrior Tang.

Warrior Tang is a computer programmer / network technician from Sonoma County, California, just 50 or so miles north by northwest of the Nuke Free Zone. He lives in a suburban enclave sandwiched between the redneck farming areas and Nascar track on one side and the Russian River towns that can almost, but not quite, make Berkeley look conservative in comparison on the other. Tang's political views lean towards a distrust of everybody involved in politics. While he tends to hate the Democrats less than the Republicans at the moment, times can change. He considers himself an extremist moderate who takes positions from both sides of the fence and stands strongly for them. Tang believes that there are often elements of truth and reason in any position, and he also enjoys annoying people on both sides of the political spectrum at the same time. So as to avoid any misconceptions, Warrior Tang likes to make clear that he is not a real Warrior, he just plays one on the Internet in a gaming / fiction writing group he's a member of since before he started writing about politics.
